Killiow 2008

KILLIOW CONCERT CANCELLED

29th September 2008 - Camellia MC Productions Ltd will be going into liquidation on 6th November 2008.

Killiow 2008 has been cancelled. Poor ticket sales meant there were insufficient funds to pay Deboer – owners of the Pink Galaxy Marquee - and without a venue it was impossible for the event to proceed.

Dr Charles Moon, Chairman of Camellia MC Productions the charity behind Killiow 2008, said this morning that everyone involved was bitterly disappointed.

“When it became clear we would not be able to use the Pink Galaxy the whole committee began making telephone calls searching for a replacement. We tried desperately but without any success and by 5pm yesterday we had to take the sensible option and cancel the event.

“We are still trying to reorganise the planned Auction of Wishes and Dreams in the hope of raising some funds for our chosen charities and are already negotiating a possible venue.”

But with true Cornish spirit the 260 members of the Camellia Symphony Chorus - made up of choristers from the length and breadth of the county especially for Killiow 2008 - will not disband but will continue to perform at charity concerts in the region.

At this time we cannot confirm whether refunds will be available and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
